Welcome to www.looknorth.ca website of Smart Communities Society. SCS is a non-profit organization established to facilitate, promote, and develop awareness of Information and Communications technology among all citizens of the Northwest Territories Canada. Incorporated in 2000 and administering the Smart Communities projects for the North.
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to broaden community access to knowledge resources by developing and championing sustainable community initiatives and applications using information and communication technologies (ICT) that enhance transformative social, cultural, educational, and economic opportunities throughout the North.
We administer a number of great ICT programs in the Northwest Territories, including Computers for Schools, the Community Access Program (CAP), CAP Youth Initiative (CAP-YI) and NTnet operations. Smart Communities Society is also a member of Microsoft Authorized Refurbishers (MAR)
